Introduce yourself, and what are your interests?

A young Saudi entrepreneur, practicing commerce and a passion for music and writing. I authored a book entitled "Oriental Music", which is available at the Ziryab store, Jarir bookstores, and Virgin Megastore.

How did your project idea start? Is the store's name related to something specific?

The success of the Ziryab store with Salla, as they say, "necessity is the mother of invention". As a music enthusiast, I faced a problem in obtaining accessories and supplies in addition to musical instruments and recording equipment... etc., Ziryab store, and I had to buy them from the internet due to the lack of a local alternative that provides them with the same quality.

From here came the idea of creating a Saudi website specialized in music and in a professional manner that offers information and advice first, and then original and guaranteed musical products and tools second. I took the name from a historical Arabic figure who had a great impact on the development of Eastern music that I adore, which is Ziryab, who innovated - in addition to musical aspects - the Ziryab store, the art of etiquette, and from there he entered Europe and the rest of the world. The domain name was registered and the actual launch of the website was in May 2019.  

If you had one choice between traditional commerce or e-commerce, which would you choose? 

The success of the Ziryab store with Salla always adopts the concept of e-commerce due to low costs, easy access to a wide segment of customers locally and globally,  and many other features. Yes, and the first customers still have a special place, and I can remember their names and where they live.

Has your business expanded and developed by choosing e-commerce?

The success of the Ziryab store with Salla, the launch of my project was from e-commerce, and we will open branches soon, and the marketing returns from them will be greater than their economic returns, as indicated by the results of our market study.

What advice do you give to those interested in e-commerce?  

I advise beginners to move forward in pursuing their dreams and ideas, which may seem naive in the beginning, but when you start implementing them on the ground, having patience, facing obstacles and solving dilemmas, you will see a success that pleases you and impressive results you did not expect. Also, everyone interested in e-commerce should know the concept of brand identity
